La comtesse Ixe (1976)
La comtesse Ixe
Rollin's avowed love of serials is intermittently evident here. This in fact often looks and feels like a silent serial (slowed down but not sped up, at quotidian Rollin fps), perfectly enhanced by Didier Lepauw's bouncy, sarcastic free jazz score.
Also known as: La comtesse X
Description: The Countess X is an early [and possibly the best] example of Jean Rollins’ xxx period. Made before he had totally abandoned style, humour and plot and beautifully shot on 35mm film. It features some of the best actors and actresses from the period.
