Born December 14, 1979, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA
Amy Brassette grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana and is best known as a Series Regular for 22 episodes in Fox’s prime time sketch-comedy series Cedric the Entertainer Presents. She played several characters in each episode including Cash’s on and off-again love interest “Tanisha” and roles in recurring sketch favorites like “Que Hora Es” and “Jingle Fever.” Amy also had an exclusive two-year Talent Holding Deal with 20th Century Fox. Amy’s ability to transform often makes her unrecognizable in many of her television and film roles, both comedic and dramatic. She starred in the first national commercials for Apple iBook (with Milo Ventimiglia) and iPhoto (with Esteban Powell) and a list of national and international commercials for brands like Diet Pepsi, Cars.com, SBC Global, and McVitie’s Cookies. Her love for acting began onstage as a sketch comic with over 50 original characters and impressions. Before the days of Youtube, she moved to Los Angeles at age 19 with a self-produced VHS tape of 24 original characters. Her tape caught the eye of top TV agent Jeff Witjas at the William Morris Agency. Amy currently lives in her home state of Louisiana and works with “local hire” status in projects filmed in New Orleans, Atlanta, and other cities throughout the Southeast U.S. market. Recent projects include the role of Carla Gwartney in Season 1 of HBO’s hit series True Detective with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson and a stand-up comic in “The Last Laugh” with Chevy Chase and Richard Dreyfuss.
